Handi Quilter Machine Rentals

Cotton Weeds is pleased that we can offer quilters the opportunity to finish their quilts with 100% of their own work! Karen, our longarm quilting educator, will be by your side to guide you through your quilting experience. It's not as hard as it looks! Come give it a try!

Longarm machine rentals are available to anyone who has taken our "Great Beginnings" class

Class/rentals are scheduled on an individual basis

You'll receive personal instruction/quilting angel guidance

Two machine available - quilt with a friend!

Rates:

$55.00 Great Beginnings class (you only need to take the class once)

$20.00 per hour for first 3 hours/$18.00 per hour thereafter

Thread -depends on the size of your quilt, we only use 100% cotton

Rental time is defined as all the time at the studio during the renter's scheduled time to include:

Preparing the quilt and backing, pinning on the quilt, selecting pantographs and thread, winding bobbins, searching for quilting ideas and practicing quilting designs, taking the quilt off the frame, trimming and squaring the quilt, picking out quilting stitches and talking on cell phone.

Please be on time for your scheduled class or quilting session.

Helpful Hints for a Successful Quilting Experience

Make sure your quilt top is pressed nicely and any loose threads trimmed

Backing should be 6" larger than your quilt top all the way around

(Example: if your quilt top measures 48" x 60", your backing should be 60" x 72")

Use a good quality cotton batting, thick puffy polyester battings not recommend!

If this is your first experience quilting on a longarm machine, we recommend you start with a utility quilt
