Ella Mae Sampler

March 1st, 2010

Good Morning!

It’s been quite awhile since the last post. We have been really busy and have not had a chance to write but we do have a lot to talk about.

First, Sharon New who works with us, had emergency surgery last month and will out for a little bit. We wish her a speedy recovery and we miss her!

Kathy Stafiej has joined our team! We have worked with and known Kathy for a longtime. She is a very talented quilter, loves hand applique’, brights, and is a longarm quilter! We are very excited that she said, “Yes” to join us. So please welcome Kathy next time you are in the shop.

Ella Mae’s Sampler has been one of our most popular blocks-of-the-month and we quickly sold out. After much searching, we have purchased more fabric and cut more kits. The quilt is finished, hung up for display, and just beautiful! So come in and see the quilt and sign up for the block-of-the-month if you really like it. It’s $17.95 per month for 12 months and that includes your finishing kit. You can also see a picture of the quilt on the website.

Lots of new Spring fabric has arrived. We just received a hugh shipment of Valdani hand-dyed pearl cotton and floss and the new Buck-A-block quilt is finished and ready for sign ups.

So long for now and we hope to see you soon.

Snowy Monday

January 18th, 2010

Quite the wintery snowy day today. Joanne and I finally got plowed out and made it here around 1:00 – hope no one was looking for us this morning. This is a good time to remind everyone to please call before stopping by on inclement days such as this to make sure we are open.
It was great to see all of you who came to our Winter Open House this past weekend! A lot of you signed up for classes – but we still do have room in a few classes such as Beginner Quilting, Bali Bowls and Half Log Cabin. Give us a ring if you are interested!
Our favorite UPS man brought us another box of fabric on Friday – “Boutique” by Chez Moi for Moda. It boasts pinks, blues and greens for a spring look, which we could all use right about now. Stop by and check it out!
Looks like today’s snow is finally slowing down – I’d say we have about a foot so far. I see some serious shoveling in my near future. Then it will be time to warm up with a nice cozy quilt to either wear or work on.

Winter Open House and New Fabric Arrivals

January 13th, 2010

Good Morning,

We are practicing blogging! We hope to be able to share with you when new fabrics arrive, when we have finished new samples, and just all around fun stuff.

Don’t miss out on our Winter Open House, Sat, Jan 16, and Sun, Jan 17. Stop by, join us for refreshments, see the new class samples and be inspired to take a class. We have put together a great class schedule to help you beat cabin fever. We will be available to explain the classes and show you what you need. Sign up for a class and receive 20% off your class fee. We will also be having a special sale. All books, patterns and notions 20% off! This will help with your supplies for your class or purchase that special new notion that you have been wanting.

Boy, the new fabric has been arriving by the truck loads! Nature’s notebook by April Cornell for Moda. A beautiful soft blue and yellow group. Welcome to My Pad, a delightful children’s group with a panel. Dogs and Cats, fun novelty group and Quiet Inspirations, soft pastel sea shells.

Because so much new fabric has been arriving and we have no where to put it, we are adding fabrics daily to the clearance area. Check it out! Fabrics 40% off and some as much as 75% off!

Hope to see you this weekend. Keep warm and we will start posting pictures as soon as we learn how!
