New Blocks of the Months!

A Tisket A Tasket

Since our very popular "Snowmen Through the Year" and Baskets of Life" stitcheries are wrapping up, in mid-January we will be starting a new stitchery block of the month - A Tisket A Tasket from White Picket Fence Designs. Stop by during our open house to see our sample and you will fall in love with this wonderful stitchery project. Sign up anytime during January for this 12-month adventure. Stars Around the Garden

Also in mid-January we will be beginning a new pieced and appliqued block of the month called "Stars Around the Garden". This is a beautiful 9-month/part quilt consisting of pieced blocks surrounding an applique center featuring Kansas Trouble fabrics by Moda. The cost will be $24.95/month for 9 months and this includes the finishing kit. Sign up will begin after the first of the year. For our far away customers, mail orders are always welcome!

Mystery Clue of the Month

This is a new and exciting project at Cotton Weeds. It is a 6-month program at the end of which you will have completed a beautiful 64" x 78" or 82" x 96" quilt. You choose your size. To participate in this program, you will receive a list of fabric requirements that you MUST purchase at Cotton Weeds. When you have all your supplies, you will receive your first clue for FREE.

Each of the 5 months thereafter you will come in the shop and pick up the next clue for FREE. So at the end of those 6 months you will have all the information for completing your Mystery Quilt and the pattern and instructions will have cost you nothing! We are planning a grand "Show & Tell" to see what all the participants created at the end of the program. It is going to be so much fun to do a mystery quilt this way and to see how different they all turn out to be.

Cotton Weeds receives new "stuff" daily! We can't possibly keep up with the website so "like" us on facebook for the latest posts and see what new comes in or stop by and check out the new selections.

Tips & Hints

When you stitch the label on the back of your quilt, place a few 2" to 4" pieces of the fabrics used in the quilt top behind the label (between the quilt back and the label). This way, if the quilt ever needs to be repaired, you will have the right fabrics on hand to make a nice matching repair.  Additionally, they will have been laundered at the same rate as the quilt and should blend nicely.
